Riders, This is a 1 day Mountain Biking Intermediate course (Dates for 2026: May 2nd or 23rd)
Time: Arrive at 8:30 am to sign in and ready for a prompt 9 am start; the class will end at 2 pm
Location: Spokane Area. Location listed in event calendar writeup, visible with member login.

1. Discuss Three Essentials.
a. Pedals Level and equally weighted
b. Index finger covering the brakes at all times
c. Eyes scanning ahead
2. Riding Position. Tall Ready, Low Ready
3. Bike Body Separation. Fore and Aft, Side to Side
4. Braking
a. Discuss foot position
5. Cornering.
a. 9 techniques to make you safer and faster
6. Rock Dodge
7. Ride small Circle
8. Ride Tight Switch Back
9. Balancing Drills; Ratcheting , Track Stand, Track stand Race, Ratchet into Log
10. Front Wheel Lift
11. Manual infused Front wheel lift
12. Hopping. Brakes on hopping.
a. Discuss the foot wedge
13. Move to location to Practice Climbing, Descending and Corning.
14. Lunch
15. Move to East side.
16. Practice Body absorption on Pump Track.
17. Riding a short steep incline using front wheel lift.
18. Riding a large steep decline
19. Practice both on natural features.
20. Ride a skinny
21. Learn to jump.
22. Learn to ride Drops on Wooden Ramps
a. Front wheel lift
b. Manual infused Front wheel lift.
23. Do a ride to practice their new skills
24. Learn Steps to wheely

Event Pre-Requisites
- Helmet
- Food and water
- Mountain Bike in good working condition. A dropper post is recommended.
- Basic ability to ride a mountain bike on dirt on green level trails
- Your skill level can be intermediate or advanced and its recommended that you attend the fundamentals class prior to joining this intermediate class to brush up on your technique.
