Event Registration Wed Night Hike - Bald Knob to Kit Carson

The club's Wednesday Night Hike series are a great way to get to know us. Guests are welcome to come along, take a hike, meet some of our members, and learn more about our club's great opportunities.
We will meet at Bald Knob Campground which has a pit toilet (campground may not be open yet) and ample parking. This hike is an out and back, approximately 5 miles and about 600 ft of gain with a quick side trip to the CCC cabin. The trail is well maintained with rolling terrain, excellent views along the way as well as from the summit of Mt. Kit Carson where we will stop for a snack. While this is considered an easier trail, I highly recommend it for heavy pack training for those who have not yet hiked at a higher elevation and/or with a loaded pack to practice balance. Bring water, snacks, bug spray, and trekking poles are helpful for hip/knee issues. Leashed and well-socialized dogs are allowed, owners must practice Leave No Trace.
