Climbing Conditions Assessment, Overnight, Rope-Team Summit Climb Attendance is mandatory to go on the graduation climb. We will meet at the Willow Creek Parking Area near Mullan, ID (just off I-90 East) for an 8am Trail Time Saturday morning. The hike to Lower Stevens Lake is 2.5 miles and with 1,900 feet of elevation gain. After setting up camp and eating lunch, we will spend the afternoon assessing climbing conditions and practicing how to dig avalanche snow pits. Bring your favorite GOURMET camping dish and your best jokes for an evening of fun and an early turn-in. On Sunday, weather and conditions permitting, we?ll get an alpine start (about 2:30am) and make a bid for the top of Stevens Peak (1,500 feet of gain) as roped teams. Sunday afternoon we?ll break camp and hike back to the trailhead. Everyone is invited to join us afterwards for the traditional get-together at an area restaurant (location TBD). If avalanche conditions dictate we will complete this trip at an alternate location.
