Colville National Forest Collaboration - November 2008 The Colville National Forest is updating their Forest Plan and wanted users to work together to determine management plans for different areas. Most of the roadless areas were selected to be managed to protect their wilderness values. The 2008 process involved six meeting held around the region. |
Dishman Hills Natural Area hike - November 2008 A early November hike to a very easily accessible location was enjoyed by a group of hikers. It was quite interesting to view the areas affected by the fire and how the various approaches taken by the land owners. |
Iller Creek Trail Work - October 2008 The Iller Creek Conservation Area has been acquired by Spokane County over the last 10 years. No trail system was designed. Instead trail users continue to use logging skid roads or user created trails. The current "trails" are steep, rutted and no fun! The new trail system is designed by Washington Trails Assn crews and built by Mountaineers. |
